What would you do with a free 30k?

I’d probably teach myself how to trade currencies with about 10k.

Then blow the other half on a new passat TDI

  1. If you think you can have 30k, spend 10k, and have half left, can I be your accountant?
  2. A new Passat TDI would cost more than 20k, if it existed.

NICE down payment on a house/property (and maybe pay the car off)

  1. pay taxes on 30K
  2. cry that there is only like 16grand left
  3. urinate self in public who cares if people laugh you have 16 grand in your pocket
  4. buy new pants
  5. pay off debts
  6. buy a Dr. Pepper
  7. research places to invest money
  8. invest money

or

Completely cock block dex and find out who this is and tell her I have 16 grand to spend the weekend with her, and hopefully have sex with her

take pictures and rub it in Dex’s face

Finish the race engine, play with another 3k, invest the remaining 17k or so.

pay-off credit cards & school loan
take a vacation with whats left over

good question… that would be kick ass if you didn’t

Pay off my student loans first, and then put 4k of it towards paying of my car.

pay off existing loans/pay for rest of college

buy a bike

spend remaining money on vacations

[quote=“Daddie,post:6,topic:24617"”]

Good investment

ok?

its only 30K… i would pay bills/debt… sell my car and buy a newer car.

30K… really not that much money today.

sorry the other 2/3s on a passat TDI…there was a Sabres game last night give me a break. I thought you could buy TDIs again in the fall of 07?

Not only do you have to watch out for the grammar police, look out for the math PD as well

I would start up a small biz or ind ways to make more off the 30k.
Spending it on anything would be REALLY stupid. How often does a person have 20-30K cash to work with.

Very often when you aren’t 18 and irresponsible… :smash2:

and yes nimrods, you have to pay taxes on windfall from gambling.

I would eat at the Chop House every night for a year.

I tell you what I did do with 30k extra income this year (my consulting biz pulled in 30150, just got all my 1099’s).

  1. Pay off 12k boat loan. (one of the dumbest purchases I’ve made, but now it’s paid for).
  2. Put a good down payment on my GTO. Needed to replace the wife’s car anway.
  3. Put the rest in savings since the wife is taking 12 weeks maternity and NYS pays about a 1/3rd of what she makes normally.
