I’d throw it in a canal after I cheated Buffalo out of it.
oh…wait…
I’d throw it in a canal after I cheated Buffalo out of it.
oh…wait…
im guessing your roommates dads name is scotty
as far as what i’d do with the cup; i’d stare at it in awe and never fucking touch it unless my name was going on it
I know im gonna get hardcore flammed on for this…but its just another piece of metal to me :gotme:. I’m not really that into conventional sports. I’m more into hunting, fishing, trap shooting…that kinda shit.
I would of made a new video 2 girls 1 Stanley cup
Negative.
And we certainly did not deface it. Judging by the damage, we took better care of it than a good number of people who’ve had it before us.
Also, to be clear. This was one of THREE Stanley Cups. 1 is kept in perfect condition, in the Hall of Fame. And two are there for the purpose of travelling with the teams members and staff who won it for them to do whatever they want with it. I’m sure some people get it, and don’t let anyone touch it, but my roommates dad wanted EVERYONE to enjoy it, and that we did.
lol @ you guys thinking its the real one.
They have a few replicas of it.
Awesome that you got to drink beer from it though
We we’re told by the guy who travels with it, that there are 3, not just 2. But yes, as stated originally, it was a replica, obviously.
If it was with someone that won the cup it’s the real trophy.
Wait – it gets even more confusing. If you’ve been to the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto, Ontario, to see the Stanley Cup, you might not have seen the real Stanley Cup. Each year, every player on the winning cup team gets to spend one day with the trophy. In addition, the cup travels 250 days per year to charity events and NHL promotional activities. When the cup is out, yet another replica takes its place in the hall. How can you tell the difference? The real cup has about a dozen misspelled names, like the name of goalie Jacques Plante, and the word Boston in the 1972 engraving. All the errors are corrected on the replica.
That’s the greatest part of the aura surrounding the Stanley Cup; that each player on the winning team gets a day with it. Yes, it’s not the ORIGINAL one that goes back to the 1800’s because that was retired due to it getting old and brittle, but what you see in those pictures is the current “official” cup. The same one the guys in the white gloves carry, the same one you see hoisted at the end of the finals.
Very cool Paulo.
As someone who played hockey as a kid though I still don’t think I’d actually touch it. It gets ingrained in you that the only time you touch the cup is when your name is on it.
True, but at this point, I’ll probably never play hockey again, so I am willing to throw away any superstition surrounding the subject to enjoy it as much as possible. Which we did.
Me too.
i would not drink out of that unless it had been soaked in alcohol for at least 24hrs
ZING! +karma
im not concerned about trashing it. it’s been pissed in on multiple occasions, thrown into pools, so many crazy things done to it
i just wouldn’t touch it unless my name were going on it.
i would touch it but it really wouldnt be anything big to me. ive played hockey for years and years and won some nice trophies and finals. this is just another hunk of metal until you are the one that actually wins it. once you have your name on it or you get that in your hands after you rightfully have won it, thats a different story. if you just walk up to it and have fun, yeah its cool, but it does not have its full meaning at all.
how old are you/where did you play? you should come out to my skate and shoot wednesdays, pm me for info
Meh, there are nicer cups, metallurgically, but that is pretty low class. I wouldn’t drink from the cup any day…
:thankyou:
J/k. I’m with Jeg in having no reverence for it. I also never played hockey though. That’s pretty awesome, and those are some sweet pictures to have. I hope you backed them up!
Put it on ebay and then buy lots of Sun Chips.
WOW!! AWESOME DUDE
if your talking to me, we have already talked about this with me and my brother playing hockey with you guys. lol i never have time nor money anymore, and my brother already plays some bar leagues and never has time for other shit.
