Its probably overkill, but I hope to do the winter ice driving with quattrokrant this year.
I am very worried about how loud they are going to be…Lets see how long I can stand the sound for

It doesn’t seem to be louder than any other snow tires at speed, I think you really notice it at slow speeds in parking lots lol.
Good to know, I will just turn up the radio and continue to drive like an asshole
I’m hoping to do the same event(s), send me some info on it when you find out. It would be nice to follow someone there.
I’ll likely be there and be pulling Audi’s out of the snow yet again with the Honda for the third year in a row. I’ll be on Nokians as always.
But when do you guys put them on?
Im putting mine on this saturday. Do it before the snow flys, cause then everyone and mother will be at the tire shops.
When the forecast shows measurable snow.
But I have the advantage of having my snows mounted/balanced on a 2nd set of rims and a nice comfy garage to work in so swapping over is a 20 minute job I do myself.
I’m currently running Blizzaks that are pretty awesome. Its my 4th season on them so we will see how they hold up. I’ve been told they only use the special ice compound on the first half of the tread and i’m about there, so i’m definitely interested how it’ll go. Next set will definitely be some Hakka R’s. I haven’t heard anything bad about them and we sell a ton at the shop.
nokian hakkas here…i switch to the winter wheels when they start salting. so probably in 2-3 weeks
Year round…
Think I’m just gonna rock the allseasons that came with my TDi unless I start getting frustrated with them…
I have hankook dynapro atm’s on my jeep. Fantastic in snow, slush, rain, off road. Only thing a dedicated snow tire has on these is better ice traction.
Dunlop Wintersport 3D, don’t really like them, but they’ve got another years worth of tread left on them. Switching them out the day before thanksgiving and I drive to CT, always seems to snow on the way back to Roc.
I guess switching over to snows depends on a lot of things.
Like Jay said, it’s easy to switch them over if you have a second set of rims that they’re already mounted on.
However, I think it also really depends on what kind of tires you’re running in the summer. If you’re running all-seasons, you can wait a little longer to switch to your snows. But if you’re running performance summers like I was, I think you would switch a little sooner. I dunno about you guys but it makes me a little nervous having performance summers on the car knowing that it’s Buffalo and it can snow at any point.
That being said, I have my snows on as of last Friday.
I don’t want to imagine the Road noise in those bitches… Love Nokian Winters though.
just got a set of the hakka r. Three generations of hakkas now. Hoping these are more like the old Q’s in snow
I’m going to run 245/40/19" Bridgestone Blizzak LM-25’s on my 19" Rays in the winter because i’m not a pussy.
taking off the 255/275’s on there now and storing them as i assemble my spring set up… should be the only cat out there who’s gonna do this
I will be going to KB bright and early most mornings hopefully… so i wanted some good snows… I was looking at bliz ws70’s but i can get a great deal on the firestone winterforce… question is… should i stud them?
