When selling your bike.......

+1

When I bought my bike I brought a licensed rider with me who had his own insurance since I didn’t have mine. I had been on bikes before but didn’t want to chance it.

Either cash in hand in case or say no and explain to him why, if he doesn’t agree then he is a douchebag and shouldn’t sell it to him anyways.

There was a guy on Roclife who let a guy test drive his S2k and the guy wrecked it and totaled it and didn’t pay him one penny. Shitty, don’t let it happen to you.

:word::word::word: Tell him he needs to find better friends if he doesn’t know anyone with a motorcycle license. :stuck_out_tongue:

kat finally got his feet a little wet and wants a real bike?

The real question is who the hell is going to start on a torque monster twin?

not everyone knows a super cool guy with a white station wagon in his sig

No, only the privileged

Nice lookin bike. I love the white.

About riding it, I have always seen people been very hesitant becuase anything can happen (See Paulols thread). If they are serious and come with money and have a license or permit, then go for it but if they show up asking to ride it and have nothing, tell them to take a hike.

IMO a ride is a good idea of the condition of the bike initially to see if there is any standout things wrong with it.

fuck that. cash in hand if the guy doesn’t know what he’s doing.

I have never let someone ride the bike. It has never been a problem. Come over, start it up, sure. Ride it? Not unless you buy it.

I wish I could buy this bike

wellllllll a bike can run soundly, and have serious transmission problems, or clutch issues, or… etc etc… I’ve atleast ridden every bike i’ve ever bought, or had atleast somebody else ride it first.

F’real. I had both car and motorcycle permits the day I turned 16. Doesn’t mean shit if you ask me…

Trust me, that bike is real enough for anyone on here…

See O.P.

That would be a fun site to see :stuck_out_tongue: <3
But really, it kinda would

Truth, show up with money and be serious. If YOU don’t have a license, come with someone who does. If you don’t, tough shit, you don’t get to ride it. If you crash/drop it be prepared to be forking that money over. It’s a simple concept, but people seem to make it complicated

I wouldnt let him ride it. If he seriously thinks that something might be wrong with the bike have him bring a friend that does have a license to ride it. And u crash it u buy it. Make the guy give u the cash first.

i went with a kid to ride a bike b/c he was a noob, asked if i could ride it around his condo complex and click through gears, feel the clutch ect. cash was there but not exchanged yet. guy was cool about it, i told him i was not planning on doing stand-ups, just wanted to make sure the guts were working.

^ word. When me and KAT went to rochester to buy the bike he’s talking about selling we did the same thing. I took it around the block a few times in his neighborhood and went through the gears…
Why we had to do this on a 20 degree day is beyond me :meh:

It’s all on the vibe you get too. But if someone was looking to buy my 636 that is 100% mint, never down, etc etc and a a couple 17yo kids show up and say “oh sweet! can I ryde it y0?” then you tell them to have intercourse with themselves.

hey did anyone mention you shouldnt let him drive it or at the very least have cash in hand? Just thought i would add some good info since it hasnt been covered yet.

I didn’t say a buyer shouldn’t want to ride it… If you are dumb enough to show up with thousands of dollars at a strangers house, you also deserve to be robbed.
