When to throw on the winters?

haha right now i’ve got tear drops on one side of the car and s14 stockers on the other.

thanks Trav!

eish the tear drops i tell ya, what a terrible rim. the 91+ aren’t that bad! def better than these or steelies. did u sell your 17’ winter tires louis ?

well if i wanted to get my 195/55/15 winters put onto my stock wheels…that just woudlnt work. buying 17’ witners is pricey as hell to! and they are aren’t nice and narrow (not that wide but still) which is what you really want in winter so they say

No I had them for 3 winters, they’re toast. And I picked up a set of almost new Nokians for the stock 240 wheels for around $200. :E

Gonna throw on the winters tomorrow. It snowed last night and it sticked this morning making for a fun drive into work.

it still hasnt snowed in edmonton, its been raining for like 4 days now tho! is shitty! because i still have my summers bc there is no sno, and i have no traction on the rain so its amost as bad!, plus i havnt washed the car in like 2 weeks, theres no point , so much rain!

hehe… sorry i washed my car at the beginning of the sno-rain… and brought down on us!

w/e my car is sooooo dirty, cant see out the windows hardly, i just want to clean it and wax it for the winter!!!

back on topic

are u guys going to put splash guards for ur spec so u dont destroy the body?
i got some from crappy tire for 10$(all 4) going to look like shit but i dont care

put my winters on today, its pretty cold in the mornings when i go to work, didn’t want to hit ice on my summer tires…

rocking the black steelies now…

yeah i started sliding today in 3rd gear from normal acceleration on that newly paved road by lewis estates.

the ice is here

Its like plus 12 today…snow tires are a far cry away for Calgary.

Here too. Was working on the car with the garage door open. FTW

haha it figures, all week was cold, frost in the morning, slippery roads, etc.

I put my winters on on saturday, sunday is beautiful… murphy’s law

Ya I feel for you, but I mean…the salt on the roads is the only reason I store my cars in the winter.

…and the salt wont come out till the snow sticks which Im thinking will be Mid to Late November…and its Calgary…in January there will be days when its plus 10.

do those anti-static strips actually help from keeping salt off the bottom of your car? i’ve heard good things about em

^^^^ how much for those?? if they work id buy some too.

Ive actually heard a few good things also but Im still not 100% convinced.

I’d drive both my cars through the winter if that was a 100% pure way to protect against the salt.

I don’t think its 100%, but apparently most of the salt you pick up is from the car having a static charge

for $50 I’ll demagnitize your car :finga:

i take it you will just screw on a ground wire, that drags along the ground.

i see those one vans and shit, its sooo ugly.

ya Im definitely not for dragging little thin black strips around.
