Those of you that run snows… Did you switch to your summer shoes this weekend? Just got back from my first little cruise of the year with the summer treads on and it felt so good. Better that any snow we get from here on probably won’t stick to the roads much.
been on my summer tires all winter…
Put the lotus on the road last week, so i call that puttin my summer tires on.
IDK why you constantly brag about making your STi less fun to drive…

Put my stock wheels back on for about a week here, ordered new tires for my new wheels which will be here Weds.
I missed being able to turn hard sooooo much! Not to mention no more spinning through 1-2-3
Going from noisy snow tires to even noisier firestone all seasons…
Mid week I will be. I did take the '55 out for it’s first '09 drive so that kindof counts I guess!
again, I dont know where you guys think there is no traction, i get around just fine
plus i’m not spending an extra $400 on snow tires/mount and balace all the dam time…seems like a great idea to me
but then again, i’m not a trust fund baby so yea…
an extra set of wheels works for me…
It’s not about not traction, it’s just that an STi on snows has TONS of traction and will do whatever you want it to. It’s arguably the BEST thing about the cars.
thats great and all, but i’ve never had a problem running my sti with summer tires, so why spend the $? big waste to me
when i start getting stuck and sliding around in the snow, maybe i’ll buy another set…I did run snows for 2 years, and yea there was more grip…but not $400 worth

I have all weather. I know, I /fail
But I’m poor and they last me all year.
I might toss them back on, not a practical decision though.
but you have to buy new tires regardless… you will just get double the life out of both sets, and actually be on the correct type of tire for the conditions.
anyways, I am back on my summer setup - installed coilovers, sways, subframe bushings and the summer wheels/tires on saturday :tup:

It’s a great feeling isn’t it? You get in the car and go, “whoa, I forgot how well my car handled with the right tires”.
