well i figured someone who auto-x’s would know that softer tire compounds wear faster…my blizzaks for sure did not double the life of anything
excessive spinning of non-snows doesn’t help their life either. all i am saying is you’re going to go through tires at pretty close to the same rate, you might as well drive on the correct type while you’re doing it. :eekdance:
to each their own, but when i came to the realization that i was blowing throw a set of tires a year, why not buy one set of summer and one set of snow every two years instead? My last set of snows lasted through 2 winters and still looked new, my current set just came off from this winter and certainly look new still.
how do people go through so much rubber in the winter? I feel like even shitty snow tires should last an average car 3-4 winters.

my blizzaks lasted 2 winters, by the end of the second they were just about bald, might have well as been on summer tires by that point
since then, running only summer tires, they’ve been lasting 1.5ish-2years(driving about 20K/yr)
must have been g-jeff, mine was in hiding all day yesterday

If it’s really bad though I can always have the wife drop me off at work. 4WD + all terrains on the truck. 
I expect to be taking the car tomorrow though.
