AWDrifter, want to make me one?
I can’t seem to find one on ebay… they have helmets, but the chrome one is beat and the spike on the black one is too big. 2.5" would be good.

If I made ten and you sold nine on e-bay you be better off.
Is aluminum ok?
aluminum would be fine, just make a final pass with some emery cloth to get a bit of a lustre.
let me know roughly what i’m looking at…
*** exclusive preview of newmans helmet ***
Are we talking round or square.(Square would cost about 10 times as much as round)
Round is a fairly simple lathe op.
Square would be 3 axis milling and be 2 ops.
This is cheap…

You might as well buy a whole helmet. Only around $40.00. DOT as well.
Edit: After further research, the minute you add the spike, the DOT isn’t available.
round FTW. i’ll think about buying one with the spike. my current helmet isn’t DOT. Do they check that shit? I mean, i don’t even have my permit.
I would think taping one on with two sided tape would be safer than bolting it on.
If you drill a hole in your helmet I think the DOT/warranty would be void.
i’d probably use epoxy.
Go for the Viking horns!
Are you talking your motorcycle helmet? If so, having you considered what might happen if you fall off with an aluminum spike fixed to your helmet?
Just don’t go getting dead…
a real spike is just retarded… see if you can fab one that would destroy on impact.
:word:
yeah, it’s a bad-ass concept and all, but…
EG: styrofoam, papier-mache… something with some give
yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh boyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
yes seriously firmly attached metal spikes on a helmet arent a good idea. depending on the direction of an impact it can either 1, poke through the helmet into the head cheese, or 2 dig into the ground and bend your neck in a way that christopher reeves would understand. Soft plastic, foam spikes attached with a 3m type tape or velcro would be safe for any motorized vehicle implement. and still give the same visual effect.
MY $.02
yeah but it would break when you heabutt someone in a sweet biker brawl :bloated: lol.
