Where to get large objects wrapped in plastic?

Get your condom jokes out of the way now, in your head. :skunk:

So basically, the inside of a hot tub cover is two big blocks of Styrofoam, laminated in plastic wrap to make them waterproof. The plastic on one of mine punctured and waterlogged, that side of the cover weighs about 200 lbs now. Killed my cover lifter and everything. :fu: I took the plastic off and dried it out, but need it re-wrapped. Figured this has to be cheaper than $300 for a new cover.

Anyone know where I can get an 80x40x4" block of styrofoam plastic-wrapped to be sealed and waterproof?

Why not just buy some blue board from Lowes or HD and call it a day? It’s all closed cell anyways.

or spray the foam with rubber undercoat…test first, some foam doesn’t like acetone.

I didn’t think that would have the insulation quality of 4" of polystyrene…also will blue board actively repel the water back down through the outer cover so it doesn’t hold weight?

Rubber idea is intriguing, is that stuff light? Needs to be easily opened by a drunk chick

Sounds like you’re trying to get rid of a hooker

If you buy laminated styrofoam, it’s because the styrofoam needs more insulating properties. Closed cell blue board (rigid foam board) doesnt. And because its closed cell, it won’t allow for water to permeate.

just fill the vinyl cavity with greatstuff…jk

haha Greatstuff is the worst stuff ever to work with. Bad memories there from a previous project. At least the foam block is finally dried out. It lost about 50 lbs today. Now I just need to get it coated with something.

Boat place that does shrink wrapping?

This is what I came here to say

wouldnt be the first time…

:snky:
Shrink wrapping boat place is a good idea but the first one I called said they won’t do it.

To recreate the block in blue board would be about $70. That’s the leader in the clubhouse unless I can find a cheaper idea.
