where can i buy a decent sized block of ice?
make your own?? how big are we talking?
My buddy makes them. Though they are not all that cheap…talking the ones used for carvings.
I don’t know the exact measurements but picture something in the ballpark of 36" x 18" x 8"
.
The company is legit. Awesome people.
Unless he wants it completley clear, they agitate it while freezing it. Call happyice. Or yellow pages for ice. Call some ice sculpture places lol.
What do you need it for?
Years ago an acquaintance (ice sculptor) told me how they take special care to freeze the water so that it is more clear, etc etc…
So if you wanna try your hand at an ice sculpture of a midget fucking a donkey, then it’ll prolly be a little harder / pricier then if you just want to supercool someones pool with a huge ice cube.
$0.02
that size sounds like it would be perfect actually… but i wasnt looking to drop a ton of coin on one… its for a grad party liqour luge…
something to that effect…
try a beer distributor
Ok I will be calling my buddy shortly to get a price. If you want it carved, he can do it as well…but more $$ lol. If it is just for a luge, you can probably get away and do it yourself.
ahhh you mean the whole Herpe luge!
i saw one of those at FYE at the mckinley mall
trying consumers now. tried wegmans, but no luck…
Thanks! yea i can make the path no problem, i have all sorts or air tools and a torch… im sure i can figure something out
:mamoru::grouphug:
They sell rubber molds that you use to make your own. Just put water in it, freeze then peel the mold away.
They sell the kit at spencers and urban outfitters in the mall.
Orly? fastest way to freeze it? fill with ice and cold water? need it for tomorrow… lol.
i tend to procrastinate.
oops just saw you need it tomorrow…lol
umm i’ll see what can be done…
i appreciate it…
yea the party starts tomorrow night @ like 9-10ish
If you get one tonight and put it in the freezer it will be frozen by morning. These molds arent huge so you may want to get two for when the first one melts.
yeah, and you can normally connect the molds together for a longer run.
Jamestown Ice sells 22lb blocks for like $4 each. Might be a bit of a drive for you though.
If you want, I can put you in touch with someone who might be able to get you some leftovers or broken blocks for super cheap or free.
