Alright, so ive been trying to decide on a turbo for the longest time and researching for the longest time.
I’ve eventually narrowed it down to the garrett gt2871r bb. or just recently the tomei m7980 arms turbo kit. I like the thought of the ball bearing of the garrett but the tomei kit comes with everything and has a higher rating to it. my over all goal is 350+ with supporting mods on my SR. so if anyone could help me with some input it would be greatly appreciated.
i was really looking into the tomei turbo myself aswell, liked a lot about it, comes with a ton of stuff has great response and lots of power still
see thats what i was leaning towards as well, seeing as you don’t have to pay anymore for gaskets, lines, etc, only down side is its not ball bearing
yes that is a bit of a down side but it is still a high quality product, not gonna be like an ebay turbo
Nothing wrong with journal bearing.
journal bearing turbos typically last longer before they need a rebuild.
