ill run your GS…but lots of pittspeed people have seen me put down 13.1-13.2. So youre gonna go down big time no matter if you run a 13.8 again or a 15.0

don’t worry, my car will be ready, By the end of this month the whole front end will be rebuilt along with a new intake, ignition and retuned carb by next spring. I haven’t touched that car since we got it in 1999, the problem it had when my uncle owned it still exist. That car is capable of dipping into 12’s on street tires. Give me ET streets and i’m sure you will be in trouble. 13.8 and i only ran it one time, i didn’t even get a chance to adjust it and try for another pass.

in 1970 they ran a 13.38 with it in stock form on polyglass GT’s. i have a 3000 stall converter, chevelle 12 bolt with 3:55 gears, hemi killer cam, holley 850 double pumper, 3 inch exh, 40 series flowmaster, headers, .030 over bore, open element and switched from points to HEI. 13.8 isn’t good at all for that car. i have a serious vacum leak at the carb spacer and its killing my power. The hei fails past 4000 rpms and my top end was affected. I may go down to 2.5 exhuast, the 3 inch does me on the street. the cam is also bad for low end but i’m sticking with it.
I don’t race the car on the street, its just too loud and brings too much attention. there’s no way in hell i want that car down at the pound. Its about to start gettin ripped apart anyway, new front fenders, rebuilt front and rear suspension.

not really a money pit, it only cost us 2,500 for the car cause it was a family deal and my uncled owed my dad for repairs he did to his other cars. If i go into debt it will be because of my hurst olds. I’m sure a turbo regal will also have me wanting to go faster and dump money into that.
It really is just a warmed over 455, on the grand scheme of things thats really not alot of work done to that engine. I think it would run a slight bit better if it was still the original stage 1 block and heads. the block in there now is from a 70 riv. this is the 3rd engine my uncle had in there. Even with the vacum problem i don’t think the 13.8 is the best time i could have run. given 4 more passes i think i could have dropped a few tenths, maybe a 13.5 i was gonna run cam2 that day but i had no loot.
