I have a back up 1997 maxima that I am thinking about either putting a grand into and keep of call it quits and off it. I just put new calipers, rotors and pads on it at all four corners. If someone has a maxima and wants new brakes I could swap these new ones for yours so I can junk it. I only did it because it really needed them and I’m driving it for the next three weeks.
Car runs and drives great but needs a full exhaust, windshield and has an evap code. Not sure if I wanna put a grand into it or smash it.
Ill call in a bit. I also added road side towing for 6 dollars a year. lol $6 bucks for the whole year… even if its only once I would ever use it, it sure beats calling favors.
ummmmm, yeah I’m pretty sure I know something about nitrous and have some parts kicking around.
Its got a EGR valve code, EVAP code and knock sensor code. The exhaust is beat but i have an appt with Muffler Man jason to see if he can save the front pipe with the 2 cats and replace the back sections. Ill clean the EGR valve w carb cleaner and hope for the best. I think a new one is like 100 bucks. EVAP was an issue years ago when I first bought it for my father and I rigged the canister and control valve… so I might have to actually replace those now. All and all im trying to stay under a grand in repairs. If I can do that, then Ill keep it or atleast be able to sell a decent car that runs great and passes inspection.
Is that worse than me putting 75 dry kit on my 4 banger fox body? Dude for some reason, I love driving this pos.
The more i look into it, the more the parts i would replace are cheap. Quick struts at all four corners, front control arms, all the emissions crap… this baby can be a dime
No shame in loving it. I fking had a riot in mine. You should dust off that 75 dry shot and install it haha. I ran a 13.2 in mine on I think it was a 75-100 shot or something like that. Crushing fools back in 2000-2002. Then I skunked a shift and blew the motor racing a Nitrous LT1 TA. Fk yeah.
