I’ve only been able to get a few pieces done. Just kind of slowly going about it when I have time. Makes the project much less stressful lol.

im not sure now what i bought at Joanns…but it was the more expensive stuff…i think microfiber
Joann’s has ultrasuede, more expensive, more durable, but doesn’t stretch as much. so that’s probably what you have.
The 3m I got from work, but I’m pretty sure they have it at depot as well. Once I ran out of that stuff I got some other type of spray from Joann’s actually that works fine.
And neither bleed through. You have to wait a while for the glue to get tacky, and then it sticks and holds strong.

yes. Especially with microsuede and ultrasuede from what I hear.
Lafengas uses ultrasuede and is replacing the fabric on his pillars for the third time due to sunfading.
I’ve never tried this stuff before, so I don’t know how well it works. But might as well since it was only ~$10

i should probably do this since I usually drive around with the top down…shoot I usually get sunburn on the weekends so im guessing my armrest, which will be perpendicular with the suns ray, will fad fast!

You know how they have that “vinyl leather” in the corner…think that needs some protecting?
you can do it whenever. All you do is spray it on, and let it cure for about 24hours. I’d just spray everything that you’ve done.

didnt get to work on it when i got home. before i install the piece i want to spray it with the UV protectent and i was going to get it on my way home from work BUT…i forgot my wallet=(
so ll pick up the stuff tomorrow.
heres the piece i made. “leather” on the outsides and ultrasuede in the middle. he stitching is silver/light gray. they had actual silver thread but it was like chrome, too shiney for me and way too thin. so i went with this and love it against the fabric.
i did single stitching on the sides. i was going to do double but after i did it on my test part…didnt like it so much.
the orignal armrest has 0…ZERO padding and just kills your arm. i plan on laying padding down for some comfort. plus it will stick up maybe 1/2" giving a better look IMO…enjoy!
once everything is done ill have a write up or something
