we’re hiring a new real estate atty
I’m sure it’s the same with computers. Timmy who ordered parts on newegg and built his own computer…and fixes (reinstalls windows) everyone’s computer is the best computer guy ever.
There people who have passion and want to learn/can be taught… Which is what makes a good hire.
But still at the end of the day… You don’t know what you don’t know.
Be humble yet eager.
Standard auto wreckers in Nf. I turned the job down due to the drive.

this makes you sound like an entitled asshole, to be honest. You want to have your cake and eat it too. Put the toys aside for a few short years and get the schooling done.
School is debatable in the computer industry.
Very true, I’m not saying I know everything there is to know and I am eager to learn new things/ways. I’m simply saying I won’t learn much sitting in a classroom, maybe more about the new age electronics in hybrids and whatnot but when it comes to actually getting the job at hand done, I’ve never ran into something I couldn’t figure out quickly the first time on my own. My buddies father is a mechanic for the town of Kenmore going on 20 years, I like working with him because I can absorb the ways he goes about certain things. Shit I know more than he does when it comes to newer cars such as twin cam turbo setups etc. It can be amusing showing my Evo to old school techs and watch them look at it with confusion wondering wtf is all this, because they’re used to basic V8’s and trucks so having them work on my car is out of the question. I worked at Harley-Davidson so I also know all about pushrod engines. There’s never been a time I’ve had to be told/shown something more than once because it’s what I actually enjoy. Now sit me in front of a computer that my dad is building or re-building and I go cross eyed and lose complete interest.

Refi your car for build parts? This is why you’re poor and stupid enough for Nascar.
credit card modding… yikes.
might i suggest an econ course?
Maybe he lives at home so its ok to have a 600+ car payment…

Yea…be careful there…
You seem like a happy person Hybrid. Trust me-you will be a bitter, miserable, fuck the day you do anything related to cars as your only means of a living. Everytime I show up at Spam’s house and he’s not hanging from the rafters, is a good day. Everyday I don’t ride my bike across the 90 without looking, is a good day for me. And I only fix/work on cars that I’m selling. If I knew that as soon as I got one car done, another pile was coming in right behind it, I’d most likely paint the ceiling with my grey matter.
I do live at home, I moved back in so I can to go school. That was the whole plan. And my car payment is only $320 a month refinanced and that’s the only bill I have. I’m getting a way better interest rate and my car will be done for now. I also have enough away to pay for a block if worst comes to worst. I also have a '97 Civic as a backup/daily beater. My mod list isn’t too extreme…
'06 Mivec long block
S3 cams
Kiggly springs/retainers
L19 studs
AMS fmic+lower pipe
custom GReddy upper pipe
full Buschur SCCA bullet turbo back
Walbro 255 pump

Omni 4 bar
Bilstein HD shocks/struts
Swift Spec-R springs
Whiteline swaybars
Perrin short shifter+bushings
parts I’m now buying…
FIC fuel rail
FIC 1650 injectors
Fuel rab fpr
Muse 02 dump
FP black turbo
speed density 4" intake
Koyo half rad+fal slimfan
Competition clutch

Buschur double pumper + another wally 255

Speed density E85 tune by Tom (TSComptuned)
I bought the car stock and the only thing I had installed were the one 255 fuel pump and Hallman mbc, the rest is done by me.
Also want to add I’m making my OWN diy cop setup.

Not everyone is like that, I know mechanics that feel like you do, then I know mechanics that do enjoy it. Must be positive
<3
if I lived with my parents I’d be driving a god damned Ferrari
yea, but then you’d be living with your parents.
I just turned 23 March 27th, not 30 lol
I’m also in the process of making 3 of these for “customers”
This thread makes me feel old.
Good luck.
Living at home and driving a ‘sports’ car isn’t really that cool.
Go to school and get the paperwork under your belt to do what you really want to do. The jobs and future experience will follow the strong foundation you build for yourself. Then maybe 3,4,5 years down the line you can be in your own place, paying your own bills, and working on your own sports car in your own garage.
:2cents:
I don’t mean to sound like a dick. I was exactly where you were 4 years ago. Do yourself a favor and get the school out of the way. The money and time spent is a drop in the bucket compared to the rest of your time on this earth.
