i grew up looking at pro Mxers the same way i did sports players. there were guys that i really idolized growing up. i liked watching these guys in particular. if i had to give my favorite riders it’d be the following:
for racing Mcgrath. noone can fuck w/ his style. smoothest rider ever.
for freestyle, Deegan. that guy has been cool since he was an amatuer racer. also he does whatever he wants and doesnt give a shit.
for local riders, Pastor. i used to see this guy at local tracks. he went from a badass racer to doing jump shows during the intermissions of our motos, to big time. i dunno what hes doing lately, but he was alot of fun to watch around our local tracks and such.
I always liked McGrath too… now i like Chad Reed… No doubt that Carmichael is unbelievable, but since he’s so dominant, i dont like him… lol…
I hate Deegan… dunno why, i just do… i kinda like Nate Adams when it comes to freestyle…
as for locals, i dont have a favorite… i helped landscape Mike Jones’ house (my g/f’s stepdad did the entire place) and i met some guys there… but dont have much of a favorite… i dont care to watch freestyle anyhow…
and i think Mat Mladin is the craziest individual alive… lol
danny pastor was never really that good of a racer. i beat him many times. he was always trying to look cool of the jumps instaed of going fast.
mike jones would be my fav. local rider, i now him personally and have owned some of his bikes. i used to get freebies from him when he raced for bentley’s.
and aslong as your on a suzuki i’ll root for ya. so it’s a good thing most of the local pro mxers ride for suzuki and i was happy carmichael signed with suzuki this year
ya, Chad does rip. hes cool. Ricky is awesome also. i like both of those guys. Nates cool.
Mike Jones’ house is really nice. that dude has like 20 cars in his driveway every time i see it. hahaha. must be nice.
haha. ya. but everytime i was on the track w/ him (in practice) he seemed fast to me. but ya, there were faster guys. He used to have a hard time up at Fox Raceway w/ guys like Shane Slother and them.
my fav local guys would be timmy coombs ,brock hepler ,jimmy evans ,and barry hawk tht guy is amazing mike jones is a cool cat our area has many awesome riders davey yezek is another one i have a mx action that says he was one of the 20 best minicycle to pro riders of all time…and for freestyle there is no doubt that travis is the best of all time plus he has a national title but thats just my way of looking at it and for all time good guys mike winslow is the man…
i agree with your dan pastor veiws he was not that fast i watched him try to qualify for steel city and he didnt have a chance … but at least he tried thats more than i can say.
michael winslow. that’s a name i haven’t heard in a long time. i remember laughing at him when he would pull up to the line on a old yz. eventually he started doing well. after i quit i seen he was racing A class on a old cr
dan was a good bit younger than me when we raced. i would get the holeshot and lead 4of 5 laps, and when i got tired he was always right there to trying to pass. i watched him try to qualify at high point one year, he was to busy trying to whip it on all the jumps.
yeah he got a lot of props for riding thoes old bikes he did good onthem he qualified for high point and unadilla on them beaters he was proabably the biggest influence i had in racing. we started haning out in 97 he taught me alot .
i quit in 97. i finished 5th overall in 250b in 96. i was planing on moving to a class and then i bought a house and got rid of al my toys. i tried to make a comback in 01, but i keep getting hurt.
yeah i know all about that the district is so big now it cost 35 bucks a class at pvr 15 to get in for 25 minuets of track time if u ride 2 classes. so i went to the woods 30 bucks for 2 hours and u dont have to be there untill 11 or so but dont ge me wrong i still do some mx racing iwas plnning on riding the vet b class this year but the costs and the fact tha u are at the track for 12 hours sucks balls.there is so many tracks now that there are series races everywhere camelback ,r&d we are racing this weekend at r&d icant wait i think i am going to go early so i can sneek out with the mx guys and do some laps plus i want to try my auto clutch on the jumps…
u guys r hatin on my boy. haha. no, its cool, i know Dan wasnt the fastest guy. pwt, i’m interested in how the R&D mx track is. let me know if u get to ride on it. someone told me that the track can be rented on weekends. if so, we should do it.
local- Jimmy Evans since we are friends. we used to hang out with paster when his still did westmoreland fair grounds track. I remember he was the guy who held the spoons to pic your starting gate spot. Winslow is the shit too. very good friends with one of my best friends. I know one of the brothers was in a bad street bike accident though but both always impressed me.
RC is gay. He fucking crys if he loses but doesn’t understand why people get mad if he T bones em. I remember he was walking the track at high point and one of my buddies told he was fat he got all lippy and got spit on lol. fag
