It’s a gorgeous shot and I’m sure a lot of work went in to capturing it. But since he’s using a trained wolf it doesn’t qualify as being “wildlife”, certainly not wildlife photographer of the year wildlife.
^ The guy claimed he was using remote triggers on a camera he set up in the wild after observing the wolves traveling that path. I remember reading about the setup when the awards were given out.
Looking at the comparison pictures, they don’t look the same. There is a lot more brown on the nose area of the winning picture than Ossian, the claimed rental.
Sure, theres a black dot… big whoop. I’ve seen 100’s of gerbils with white spots on their heads, because all gerbils look similar. Wolves do to.
Take the picture below of two wolves… and then argue that it’s two different wolves and I didn’t just photoshop two identical wolves from two different photos together. You can’t, because they look identical… because they are. Or are they? I’m sure out of all of the wolves in the world, more than one has a black fur spot under their eyes…
