They’e a branch of Continental tires made in Sweeden or something so they can’t be bad. A friend of mine has them and says they’re better than the Nokians they replaced. I don’t think they’re hardcore snow tires…more of a light snow/slush tire.
On the consumer report 2005, Viking snowtech rated as a second best winter tires. It’s even better than the Goodyear Ultra Grip Ice and bridgestone Blizzak WS-50.
on my s14 in the winter, i ran a 185-65-15 (versus 16" for the summer)
i have the hankook w404 with studs
let me tell you, these tires have amazing grip in the snow, such control. i didnt spin out once all winter, and i was out almost every snowfall drifting with a couple friends. There were two subaru 2.5rs’ with turbo swaps and i could keep up to them with my stock ka24.
