probably has cracked frame, easy to fix though…too bad you cant see some of the cracks without taking atleast the skidplate off, even then its tough seeing some of them without pulling the motor. the early f5’s frames will even crack. newer ones werent as bad though.
just wait until people get 3-4k miles on the new xp’s. those are even lighter…ive seen a-arms snapped in half from frozen corn stalks. lol.
even with a cracked frame, 2k for an f7 with a trailer is a killer deal even with needing some work. theyre pretty easy to work on for having a laydown motor. hardest part of them imo is putting the airboot back in when you forget to put it in before putting the motor in and dont feel like taking the tb’s off. thatll set ya back quite a while. amazing how long it took to cram that in compared to how fast the rest of the sled goes back together.
Decided I really wanted to get this out once before the I put it away for the winter so yesterday I talked a friend into taking a vacation day. Rented a uhaul trailer and headed for Parish NY since they got over a foot of snow Sunday night. Sled runs great and we had a blast exploring some great trails up there.
He’s got a GPS that logs his trips so you can check out where we went here:
About 70 miles. We wanted to add another 20 mile or so loop onto that but I was seriously unprepared for this trip. Open face track day helmet with goggles and a head sock, way too small snow pants, light hiking boots with 2 pair of socks etc. It was fine until the sun went down but then I started getting cold (the head sock froze to my face) . I didn’t expect to get this out till next year so I hadn’t done much gear shopping.
Yeah, we were having too much fun chasing each other around like idiots to stop and take pictures.
awesome that you went out for a rip. right now is the time to buy gear as well as the shops will have all of it on clearance to save having to store all of it until next year.
