just work extra hard for a week… then you can tell them why you should keep your job when they are firing you.
I worked for a company in Rochester that had their payroll done by Paychex which cut checks every two weeks but the company personally cut me a check on the off weeks becuase I was just starting college and needed the summer money weekly.
They paid me twice one week, direct deposit and cut a check and I deposited them both. A month later they asked me to pay it back and told me I owed them a certain amount. I had stopped working so they could not take it out of any paycheck so if its a substantial amount, find a new job and quit. You will lose the reference but its not your fault they over paid you. You just get the check and deposit it. Not like you lied on the time sheet or hours.
Double check the math, then inform them.
karma can be a bitch.
Do the right thing. Let them know.
:run:
The details are overwhelming…
I am getting overpaid right now.
Its a small company, (about 10 employees) and I seriously doubt they will notice. I’m a little bitter about them hiring people that I was training for a significant amount more than what I was making because they had told me they would be giving me a raise for about 3 months before they were hired. Well one of them got fired and told me what he was making and it wasn’t until I flipped out on my boss that I got the raise. It just happened to be the same week I got my raise that I was overpaid by $600
you are a scum-bag
find out if they made it retroactive?
If its a small company they will notice $600
when they check their books, they’re probably going to notice. Would you rather just give the 600 back now, or have them take it forcefully later?

You should pay them back more than they overpaid you, then you see what they do. If they don’t pay you back the extra money some how then you’ll know the next time that it wasn’t worth the effort to shove chocolate sponge candy up your ass.
ehh, do what you want. I’d personally give it back, but I enjoy being employed too so…
I am going to go steal $600 dollars from a convenience store, then come back here and post about it, and state my clear intentions that the money will not be returned.
