World record skydive now.

I am super excited and stoked for this. And it’s possible to break the speed of sound for sure.

The speed of sound doesn’t change THAT much at that altitude.

Aborting due to wind for now :frowning:

Aborted. :frowning:

I couldn’t imagine getting ramped up over and over for this, only to have it be posponed three times, four times etc.

That is what the RedBull is for.

I have been sitting by my radio waiting.

Did you put a fresh set of tubes in it just for this?

They have a live tweet feed that shows up on their website. I saw this:

“U guys r dumb. U plan something for 4 years an no one even thinks to plan for the weater? #epicfail #fail #stupid

Everyone having an equal voice is getting old, quick.

Definitely

Lame.

I doubt the guy willing to jump from the edge of space is all that concerned with a little wind.

The balloon that takes him up is only .0008 inches thick. (3 zeros) A piece of paper, for comparison, is .005 inches thick. (2 zeros)

Strong wind could tear the balloon, especially during the launch phase. It’s thinner than cutting a piece of paper into 5 slices… And it still weighs something like 3500 lbs.

Such a boner killer. So amped for a dude flying through space at stupid speeds. Now I have to go home from work and clean the bathroom. #megalame

No, we’ve all been living under a rock for the past week. Is there some conflict also going on in the Middle East too? Tell me wise one.

Spread out, the balloon would cover 40 acres. Insane.

Also, this is an important lesson about skydiving to all the whuffos…

WAITING.

It would be funny if he jumps a little too late and just drifts away into space. Jump Umm…FML.

(Yes I know the physics of that are impossible, but most people won’t and it’s a funny idea.)

BRASS BALLS.

SPACE BALLS.

Cue the space balls quotes…

Helmet! So, at last we meet for the first time for the last time.
