WORLDS FASTEST BMW E36 Street car!!!

Saw this in another forum and thought id share.
Here you go John. You’re next :headbang:
Check it out

It was a good day at MIR! I finally nailed my 9 sec pass!!! Big thanks to Sean Ivey again for making great power and keeping the motor together. I was hot lapping the car several passes in a row while I was trying to get the launch dialed in and the car trapped 144-146 all day long with horrible short times. The car either bogged badly due to a super sticky track or spun badly due to the street tire cars dragging water up the track.

I figured out my problem and got back to it’s 1.5X 60’ and let it rip. The end result was 9.92@145.52 mph. I was on the limiter before the traps on the 9 sec pass because I forgot to raise the limit on the MSD box in addition to the AEM. I swung back around after a few more changes but unfortunately I broke a diff output flange on the launch.

siq!

What makes them think that it’s the world’s fastest?

Just because you ran a fast time (and I’m not knocking their time) in America, doesn’t mean there isn’t some equivelant bimmer skulking around say in Stolkholm somewhere that wouldn’t hand that guy his ass.

Just sayin.

But  to fast times.

Very hot!! That is so me next season… haha yeah right.

Rick, Radowski has the fastest full chassis e36 out there. Card Counter’s 996whp car has yet to put down reliable times, ICS’ to my knowledge hasnt taken Bumble Bee to the track (1024whp) and VS Motor’s e36’s power by a twin T66 S38B39 motor is a full tube chassis shadow e36 car running 7’s.

hey i know that guy… he is always working on something crazy including quite a few fast turbododge projects.

Brian

I was there that day, saw him run this pass. I snapped an axle first run :frowning:

Cardcounter’s car looks like the front end wants to dismantle itself as he goes down the track. The suspension loads and unloads so quick and from behind(burnoutbox) area the car almost seems to go airborn in the rear.

Both cars were trapping 144-146 consistently… and finally this guy edged out cardcounter. This guy for some reason kept stalling out, 3 or 4 times in a row each time he was in the waterbox. It happened a few passes off the launch too. I’m not sure what that was all about, a few mentioned it was the clutch. Hard to actuate.

All it all, it certainly was an exciting day.

Yea that turbo dodge PU is wild, didnt he also have a van one? Awesome, wish my E39 did that, I thought 14.0 was good for these things. 9s, wow.

hey may have had a van but i dont think so. he had a horizon that was crazy fast too.

Brian

I was just looking at this thread for the first time. Very nice times and I like the setup. After seeing this car and setup and what he’s done I’m just really excited to see what John’s(turbociv) bimmer can do next year. I think with a diff change and stronger axles John could put his car in the 9’s. If anyone wants to see underside pics of John’s car/setup its almost identical to Mike Radowski’s. Check it out.

thanks gary, i am #17 on the list for worlds fastest bmw’s on bfc.com My user name over there is jfdmas. Pretty cool considering i was running low boost and shitty 60’s. however i am about 7 days away from closing on my new house and and then i need to install some hardwood floors and carpet, some paint and some drywall. when im all done modding my house im gunna start back on the bimmer. whats cool is the guy donovan on that list is runnin low 10’s on the basemap i sent him for megasquirt with more boost.

plans for the winter are…

custom top mount many with t4 flange
t4 housing swap on my sc61
26in slicks
3.5in possibly 4in exhaust
possibly meth because im fighting to keep my egts at a safe level without running overly rich.

hopefully soon i can wrap up my house deal. then get back to the bimmer.
