R/Ternie makes some badass stuff but this is by far the best thing ive seen!

so who wants to give me $2000?? :blue:
that dyno is fucking shitty. I would be pissed if I bought a turbo and had no power till 5k rpm and only had ~2000 rpm’s to play with. Wide torque curve>peaky power. IMO
27 psi sounds like a ticking timebomb
ya 27psi does sound scary…
i’d be happy with 8psi
and redneck, 5000k isnt too bad…
I can feel my car startin to kick in around 2200rpms,
and it really wants to go after 4000rpms…
last night i decided to take it up there pretty good, since i havent in a while,
and after 4000 to about 6200 i was surprised to feel how much power i get from the parts installed…
now i have a 7600rpm redline with this computer, i (should) be making power up to around 7200 maybe…
now if you were to build the top and bottom end on a neon to withstand 27psi. i think 5000rpms is a little high yes, i’d perfer 4000rpms. but all you gotta do is get a afx race ecu and you dont have a redline, you could push your car as far as you wanted till it explodes
I hear ya. I had no torque and high rpm hp in my sho, it fuckin sucked driving around. I remember having to rev to 1500rpm to start out and 3000-3500 when racing. I can let out the clutch in the truck in 2nd gear on a hill without any gas and not stall it.
If that engine you posted was 100hp less but had a flat torque curve, i would prefer it much more. my $.02
5spd sho? must have been an older model right? i beleive the newer yamaha powered shos were all autos right?
yea, i had a 92 - what a hunk of shit
newest sho’s had 3.4 v8’s(dohc) and were all autos. the older ones were the yamaha v6’s. i believe the 5spd’s had either slightly more displacement and more power or just more power. cant remember which
the 5spd had less power and less displacement, but were a lot faster.
you know what i meant about “newer” right?
is it like the 87 to 94 range???
the sho started in 89 and was a 3.0L 5-spd only. the 92 was a newer body style and in 93 they gave the option of a 3.2L with an automatic. 95 was the last year of the good bodystyle, the newer sho’s are ugly and slow and I do not follow them at all. I will always like the sho and will have another one someday, even though the one I had was a pile of shit. I like the body style and loved the engine. oh well
couple corrections there… the afx ecu DOES have a limiter… its 7800 rpm. i have one
also, you wouldnt wanna run the afx race ecu on a boosted car. advanced spark timing + boost does not = good idea.
Fu*$ that …put money towards a f-body. Stock f-body>turbo R/T Neon
Which stock f body?
Power to weight would eat an f-body, i’ve seen it done
/
No one ever specified which f bodys.
I am not saying in a race. For sure a neon with 400 whp would win…but overall I would take a bone stock f-body over a modded up neon R/T. Big deal a car that looks like a gay mans sh*t is fast
Not really relevant but I saw an f body i’d actually buy until I saw it was a slushbox. It was a newer style ta special ed. You know the yellow and black ones. Oh well.
