I am thinking about getting a pre 87 3 series to make a drift car…anyone on here have one?? Every car I have had other than my DD has been a f body gm…so really have no idea what I am starting into. Anyone have any opinions/tips on things to look out for when I am shopping around? Thanks, Ian
Why not just use an s-chassis? Your already signed up on the board and there is pleanty of people on here that will be willing to help you out with any questions you have.
^^ ditto. You can drift a damn stock 240 with a welded diff to start off. The stock single slammer, a shit load of tires, a welded diff and a bit stiffer suspension is ALL you need to get drifting and slowly upgrade your car as YOU get a better feel for it.
i had a E30 325is and trust me its not as fun to drift as a 240sx
E30’s are sick drift cars, just parts cost more, and they are harder to work on then 240’s. If you can afford the parts and all the maintenance you’ll have to do then get a 325i, otherwise get yourself a 240 and join the club.
