Yeah a 90-94 Talon/Laser/Eclipse AWD is your best bet. I have seen many in the 12s go for under $6000 and they don’t rot out bad like other cars. Parts are cheap and plenty and if you find one with a new tranny or clutch you are laughing, it will last you.
If you get a beat up looking one it can be a good sleeper but a real sleeper is the Galant VR-4 or the Eagle 2000GTX AWD with a swapped Talon engine.
Plus the AWD Mitsu runs 12 (or less) on and off the track even on worn tires.
