wtb: engine hoist ram

the piston on my cherry picker has been shot and leaking for some time now, i need to pick a very heavy engine out of the back of my truck so the time has come to replace it. anyone have one in vgc or know of a place locally that deals with such a thing? i have seen a couple online that look decent…

to specify, i am looking to replace the ram on my hoist only, not looking for a whole new unit.

You might be able to get it rebuilt.
I went to Mooradian’s in Latham and they put me in touch with a guy that rebuilds hydraulic jacks and he fixed mine but I seemed to have lost his number.

i have a brand new picker, its a 2 ton. ill let you use it for 25$.

Check Harbor freight…a friend of a friend got an electric controlled ram pretty cheep. Works amazing.

thanks… forgot about good ol harbor freight…

i bet you can just dis-assemble the ram, replace the seals and you will be all set.

Yeah goto a farm/tractor place. If they can’t rebuild it or get you the seals, they’ll know someone in the area.

thanks i’ll give that a shot… the seals on the actual ram are fine its the ones inside the double pumper assembly

I had that same problem on my penis pump, I had to upgrade to silicone o-rings so it could handle the faster pumping speed. GLWRebuild
