Prefer EF…will take EG. No preference on if it’s a civic sedan, civic hatch, or a CRX…just needs to be in decent shape. I want it to have an interior, and i want all the little shit to work. just doesn’t need to have a motor/tranny, or if it does have a motor/tranny, it doesn’t need to run, or can run very poorly, etc.
Getting way too good of a deal on another civic that needs wayyyyy too much work to be a comfortable daily driver/winter car/new :snky: project…just buying it for the motor.
if you have something that runs but is dirt cheap feel free to PM or post up as well…if i can’t find a clean roller i’ll probably buy the cleanest/cheapest running one i can find.
pretty much…it’s understood that i’m buying it. but he moved outta town and i guess i’m supposed to make the transaction with his mom now…but haven’t heard back from him so i dunno when i’m picking it up.
i’d rather do this, since i don’t feel like rushing to fix:
dash lights and gages
replace gas tank
replace front rotors and calipers
replace battery
headlights
corner lenses
tires
blower motor/heater core/all climate control vents (and even when installed i’m skeptical that a blower motor would work, or even that the wiring/hardware for one exists in that dash)
all those parts i’m sure can be had relatively cheap…but for the amount of labor it woulda taken, i’d rather just pay a bit more for another clean, properly working shell (well, properly working all but the motor) and just swap this engine over, and have a nice platform for some fun
i really like the current shell…but it’s just too much work to justify i think…and i’m very skeptical like i said that i may go out and buy a new blower motor and heater core and get the dash apart to find that all the hardware isn’t even there for it. if i was sure it would run and run well, and everything would work on it…then i’d like to keep it rather than searching for a new shell…
and mike, if i do end up having to find another shell for the motor i’ll honestly end up scrapping the current shell unless you want to buy it back again. i’d just keep the motor/tranny/ecu and probably the front seats since they’re nice and comfy…
really IMO keep the car as is and just do the work… but if you get a ef … rember you will need a restor box and a jumper for the ecu to go obd1 all ef’s are obd0…or if you go eg you need a new tranny… what you need to find is a DA
