I want an empty keg or mini keg, and a refillable co2 cylinder. Not looking to spend much honestly. If the co2 cylinder is too much then I’ll find an alternative. Let me know what ya got. :skid
whaddya making? not gonna say what i think it is lol
Fat guy soda
Soda. I don’t drink.
I rent a tank from Carbonics and I don’t think it was all that much. I like renting better because when the tank certs eventually expire its nothing i have to worry about. They also have pretty decent prices when it comes to refilling. However, they are only open on weekdays til I think 5 or 6 so it can sometimes be a pain to refill it… but then again, I don’t know of any other places to get it filled…
You can get the stuff at carbonic. You can also find the stuff at Hammersmith Homebrew in Latham and Hennessey Homebrew in East Greenbush.
Do either of those places also fill Co2? I remember I went to some place in latham… it was a little strip mall just past price chopper / latham farms on Rt.9. At that time they didn’t fill Co2 at all.
^ thats hammersmith homebrew. Guy that runs it seems nice… old as dirt though…
The only place I know that fills co2 is carbonic. The price on the equipment is cheaper at the homebrew place. the equipment at carbonic is a little pricey. The equipment can be found at any beer hombrew online sites as well.
is it easy/possible to convert a standard mini fridge?
The kegerator I have is a mini fridge essentially. You just need to drill a hole through the back (mine is up in the top left corner) for the Co2 line to come in. Then you need a hole on the top for the line into the spout. Then just the little parts (regulator, tap, etc) and you are good to go.
Ah yeah we used to make root beer but that was natural carbonation. I saw empty keg and assumed you were making a pot still lol
I don’t want to use yeast as it does produce alcohol. I also want to make this stuff good enough to bottle and sell some, and having sediment in it will take away from that. As will the “If you leave this outside of your fridge it will explode” part lol.
you should start
I’m good.
Ready for another shirrley temple drinking contest ???
You’re fucking right I am. :lol
Bump. Just need a keg now, found a co2 source.
go to one of the homebrew stores they will have the best price on them. They have flavorings and such for homebrewed soda and such too.
I’m making my own flavorings with roots etc. I don’t usually get out of work early enough to hit the stores and they’re probably all new anyways… out of my price range. Corny kegs go for around 50 bucks on ebay, some for less, but shipping is a biiiiiitch.
