Toch size refers to just the physical size of the torch itself. If you’re planning on doin alot of heavy cutting(scrap) then a larger long neck is what you’ll need, however using such a torch for fine cutting of precise parts is not suitable.
Tip size and configuration is what really extends the parameters of any give torch. Just control the size of the flame and kerf of the cut(slag and cleanup in the end).
My oxy torch i use for nothing but heavy cutting. I have my plasma cutters for fine cutting of fabricated parts. plasma cutters though are just substantially more expensive than a typical torch setup.
again, best band for the buck is to go to UW and talk to Bob about a complete package. They have them on hand for viewing and Bob is a great guy.
