WTB: Subaru Legacy GT Limited with blown motor /blown turbo /blown transmission etc

Looking for another project LGT. This time last year I had an 05 LGT Limited that I did an sti swap to and I absolutely loved it. Well… I sold the car last spring and am looking for another project car to get into now.

If any of you guys see anything for sale out there please send it my way. Really only wanting a limited (heated leather and sunroof), manual or auto is fine though. Much appreciated.

thanks
-Jake

i might have a volvo for you 2006 140k miles i think needs an engine but its awd 6 speed turbo

finish the fucking Honda.

There was an 06 forester limited on CL about a month back, mint body not a lick of rust, very well maintained, new brakes, tires, other crap… but a busted belt motor and high mileage. He was asking 3k for it which was retarded and i got him down to $2200 but still not enough for what I wanted to do. The link is dead from the emails i had with the guy though.

I was thinking of doing the exact same swap you did last year on that thing.

Ill keep my eyes open for you man.

already has the swap, sounds like busted ringlands. $3k i know its not an L but i was searching to see if that cheap forster was there and this one jumped out at me.

forest xt has the ej25 short block which is the same as the sti so I don’t know what he’s talking about with “block swap”

Anyways, i’m looking for a legacy, not forester

Look on LegacyGT.com

I have been

Good boy

Have you checked the FS section here for good running, and in great shape LGT’s?

Forester/WRX/LGT have EJ255. STi is EJ257. Very, very minor differences block wise.

No difference in the block other than the stamping number. Internals are the same too except pistons have a lightly diffrent dish volume between the two cores. Everything interchanges. Later 257 s have nitrided cranks.

Like I said, very, very minor differences lol.

[QUOTE=Cossey;1060521]Forester/WRX/LGT have EJ255

remember not all ej255 are created equal.

there are a few differences with ej255 v1 vs ej255 v2

both are stamped with ej255

"EJ255 Version 1:
Used in the 2005 and 2006 Legacy, as well as the 2004 and 2005 Forester. This engine uses the AB440 shortblock, which is the same shortblock as the 2004-2006 STI EJ257. The heads on these EJ255 are the AB650s, while the US 04-06 STI is the familiar AB640/910. The cams are the same between the EJ255 Version 1 and the EJ257.

EJ255 Version 2:
Used in the 2006-2008 WRX, the 2007+ Legacy, and the 2006+ Forester. This is the newer AIS equipped EJ255, which uses a slightly different AB630 shortblock, as well as the AB820 heads. The only difference in the shortblock of this EJ255 and the 04-06 EJ257 is the pistons. They are of nearly the same construction, but have a slightly larger dish volume. As for the heads, the AB630 heads have a smaller combustion chamber, but I do not yet know the exact specs. I suspect it is around 50ccs based on the engine config spreadsheet listed below. Subaru lists the CR at 8.4:1 vs 8.2:1 for the 04-06 STI engine."

i vote buy a auto gt. the 4eat and 5eat are alot stronger than the 5spd

Did you even read the rest of the posts in here you fucking dolt? That’s already been covered. We’re only talking about the block anyways.
