That’s the best I could come up with. Personally, if I were looking in this direction, I would go with Skunk2 aluminum nuts. I’m not sure of the wieght difference, but I am sure that the aluminum ones are lighter than stock, and they are cheaper and more readily available. When mocked at nationals just respond with the only valid arguement in this case:

“I’m rubber, your glue…”

Titanium is similar to aluminum in properties. Assuming equal thread engagement, I think the steel will be way stronger. Aluminum and titanium threads will be easier to strip out. I dunno if it would be correct to say steel is stronger in shear but thats what im thinking.

“Whilst the strength of the titanium alloys varies from lower than to equal to that of 316 stainless steel, when compared by specific strength (strength per density), the titanium alloys outperform any other implant material. Titanium nevertheless, has poor shear strength, making it less desirable for bone screws, plates and similar applications.”…

just a exerp I found without getting to crazy and digging

I’ll post this over at miata.net for you. You’ll get better result over there. I’ll keep you posted.

All of my Porsches have had aluminum lug nuts.
I am sure it is strong enough.
Titanium is stronger than aluminum.
Titanium is also heavier than aluminum so why not use aluminum?
Note: Porsche lug nuts do have a big ball seat not the typical little “cone” seat.

Go to A-J Racing.com they have them

damn… $502.69 is a little too much for 20 lug nutz. Titanium or not a lug nut isnt worth $25 each.

Thanks b18ctrb. I’ll forward the information. It’s up to them whether or not it’s worth it. If you see them on the car next year, you’ll know the answer

strong enough provided there is at least 50% more thread surface over steel as well as a larger seat

Jesus Christ, the guy asked where to buy the damn lugnuts. NOT WHETHER HE NEEDED THEM OR NOT OR WHY.

This is a classified post. If he wanted tech, he would have posted somewhere else. Answer the question or stay out of it.

Also try RandDMotorsports.com, they carry T1R products. They might have the lugs.
