Anybody know what’s going on with the ecc north lot? It’s all torn up with construction equipment and is a staging area, how is that gonna effect scca??
Perhaps they do not know about SCCA and put their trucks there thinking “Oh well… we need a spot for our stuff…”
They probably are ruining the season and not realizing it, and by the time someone speaks up it’ll be too late.
As far as I know they are just making a smaller course than usual until the construction is out of there, but they could be moving it, It’ll be interesting to see on the 3rd.

yea ECC north is a bit of a mess right now, and wherle SUCKS potholes everywhere and its all being torn up, and when they “fill” an area they just worked on its nowhere near flat…i take the long way to school now instead

In the SCCA thread they said it was just going to cost them one turnaround. Is there more construction equipment than that in the lot now? Maybe I’ll take a cruise over there on lunch and check it out.
Staging area for the nysdot road repairs on wehrle dr, no one noticed the 5000ft of 18" pipe on the side of the road? I don’t think they will be out soon, there is about 5000 cy of dirt and stone there. I bid on that project, Be happy they didn’t use the other lot next to main for the alternate staging area.
The “official” response we got from someone at ECC was that the town gets to use 20% of the lot to keep all their crap, which seems to be where they are at now, so we don’t expect it to get any worse, but I also don’t expect it to be gone anytime soon either.
I was talking to the SCCA chairman about a month ago and he said that ECC North has been giving them a real hard time about using the lot this year and it wasn’t looking good from what he was saying. Something about the police academy being in there now. And the contact they had there to get permission to use the lot has changed too.

Went by there today and snapped a couple pictures. Doesn’t look that bad. Definitely going to lose the turnaround though.
Those K rails hopefully mean they won’t be taking any more of the lot than the have already. Might be a good year to get creative with the truck placement and wire runs. Maybe install a pole mount on the top of the truck and come up with some sort of stand so the cars could pass under the wires and the truck could be kept off the course to maximize usable space.
yeah i have been wondering about that as well. Even when those trucks and piles of shit go away the lot is gonna be torn up and that end is going to be in rough shape
