WTH Pro Bono Bike Diagnoses

I’m picking up a first bike soon from a friend but before i put any money into it, I would like someone who knows what they are doing to take a look at it and tell me exactly what it’s gonna cost to fix up.

The bike is an old 500cc cruiser type deal, kinda looks like a late 70s/early 80s SECA or a Suzuki 500…I don’t actually know what it is yet but I will post that as a learn more.

I know it needs a new kick starter or kick starter pedal, but that all I know for sure…

is there anyone in the rochester area who knows bikes beyond just sport bikes and can help me out?

Update: It’s a 1973 or 74 Kawasaki Mach 3 500, 21000 on the odometer

what can you get the bike for? they are kinda hard to find in presentable running shape… good simple to work on bikes. make sure it has compression, and the tranny it together. put it in first pull in the clutch and see if you can bump it to make sure the compression is there since you said theres no kick start. ive owned quite a few of them. feel free to pm me.
