lol it’s early. I’m still sleepy cranky. Will the dealership provide the rental?
No, I will be sucking up the rental. It shouldn’t be too bad as it will be acorporate rate econocar that I will let my wife drive while I take the other good car.
Have it rebuilt free of charge and if you have any worries afterwards, you can still sell or trade it.
Isn’t there always a warranty on a rebuilt engine?
Yes there is which is a significant plus that I realized about an hour ago.
UPDATE:
The dealer is being great about this. He has already ordered the motor but will not accept using Jason for the replacement based on cost. His guys are willing to cut him a significant break due to how many times they have had the car.
Shawn is the owner of the company and with service like this I would recommend him to my Mother.
Here is their website if anyone is in the market for a vehicle: http://adrenalin-autohaus.ebizautos.com/
The car goes in on the 10th or 11th so that they can start on it the week following.
Thanks to all for the opinions and assistance with this crazy decision. Hopefully this is all good from this point forward!
Wow…that’s pretty damn stand-up of them. I’m honestly surprised. I guess we can keep that “other” bullet in the chamber now.
I wish you luck with this! I hope it works out, what a sour experience. Make sure when you get it back that you take it to Jason to have him look it over for any issues.
I already called him and set that up. Once it is done I will have him do a good once over on the vehicle to make sure that all the work is up to par and that there are no other pending issues that I will need to resolve. I would rather do preventative maintenance than wait until something else breaks.
He said that he was going to post up the video from inside #5 so soon we will all get to see how bad the destruction was.
Ok, and here is the offending cylinder. Actually it’s #5…I misspoke yesterday.
And it’s not an articulating scope, so in this video, the top of the cylinder is actually in the bottom right of the frame.
This is with the coolant pressure tester set at 10psi (max system pressure is about 15)
wait im confused, blown headgsaket=new motor? i need to shop at this dealership too. lol glad to here things are working out. chances are someone overhated it at one point resulting in the current situation.
That wash along the cylinder wall would worry me. This is definitely something that’s been going on for a while.
yes, it is a car I have for sale. I work for myself as a dealer.
