Usually it will keep most of the old settings, so if it’s a corrupt file it could(might, possibly) work. If not then you’ve wasted 1 hour of your short life away.

I ran CHKDSK on both drives last night, found and fixed 1 or more errors, no fix though. Tonight I’ll try windows repair, then fresh install. No cables or anything were loose upon inspection.
Move it back to where ever you got it from…It misses its home.

recovery console in XP use the fixmbr command.
if its half way loading into windows, its not the MBR…
its a windows problem. Did the windows repair work?
