In my experience, it doesn’t matter if you’re big or tough or can fight that gives you the right to be cocky; it is more the fact that what you’re saying is the truth and you have the knowledge to back it up.
Obviously this doesn’t apply if the subject matter you’re being cocky about involves physical prowess.
I don’t know newman anymore than what I’ve seen on here but while I can say I see a sense of “cockiness”, I also realize that most of the times I’ve seen him talking in that sense it is regarding some engineering standpoint in which he obviously has the knowledge of.
