My father has a Rhino 450. I would suggest a 660. They are by no means as fast as a quad and are wider so on tight trails its even tighter.
But I tell you what I love it and want to get one. top speed is like 40-50 range.
Has a stick in the middle console with High Low Neutrel & reverse. Has push button 4wd and push button lockers & I mean not cheap lockers either front and rear and you can use it in low and they will churp on roads and make it hard to steer.
Had thing out last weekend and it went everywhere period and climbed anything.
I highly suggest getting one, but like I said its now as fast or maneuverable as a quad, but I personally like it more.
I can agree with matt because I drove his The 660 would be a hell of a lot better but the thing was pretty amazing we had it out all weekend and were in some pretty steep territory beings that we were on old abandoned strip mines and we…well “I” only got it stuck once. So then we moved on to bigger and better things and went mudding in my civic …lol didnt get stuck suprisingly but damaged the underbody a little but…o well
excuse my retardedness. i misread what you wrote and thought you put YZf450,as in the dirtbike. but ya, that thing is sick. def a good deal.
as far as the quikshot, it should help. mine didnt really have much of a bog to begin with, so its tough to say for sure though. basically all it does is get rid of a slight rich spot in the jetting. its wel worth the money. like i said, i didnt even have a bog and i’m glad i bought it.
Thanks bro… if u can swing a 450, id do it… because if you buy a 400 and start putting shit on it, you coulda bought a a 450 and the 400 with mods wont come close… but to be honest, this thing is so fucking fast I dont see the need for it, lol
Well actually every motor bogs when you nail the throttle. The YZF engine just does it more than others. This is a carb issue. Each carb is done differently but it has to deal with bending the float and changing a few other things around. If you ever were to listen to a pros bike, you can hear the difference in throttle response. This is basically it. I would recommend Chad Sanner who used to wrench for Yamaha of Troy. He has a shop near Pittsburgh now. You can just take him your carb.
the yfz looks good, are the front rims flipped? i’d flip them back if they are and just buy a-arms. go over to www.yfzcentral.com for all the goods on those things.
I ended up buying a 660 on Friday… rolled it stock the next day, lol… just on its side… its definatly the best off road thing I have ever bought. I think it should be labeled as “a quad for drunks” … its a wonderful thing!
yeah they are kinda impressive especially the diff locks…Little under powered though…I have 450 I am sure 600 is better but still a little lacking…They need liek an 800cc
Definatly could use a little more power, with a CDI, sheeve, and exhaust tip it will do 58 with the 660, but still it needs a lil more power. I was not sure if I would like the whole UTV scene, but to be honest, I love my Rhino. So if the new Kawasaki is really all that, then ill take the loss on my Rhino because I got it so cheap, and upgrade.
Where are you from? I know 2 others that have Rhinos, and maybe once the weather gets a little better maybe we can all go out.
