You know what's crazy? I love hearing...

…the sound of trucks as they pass by. Not pickup trucks, but the big rigs.

The squealing of the turbo; the whoosh of the blow off valve…

I dunno why, I just love hearing that shit…

:dunno:

That “woosh” that you speak of isn’t actually a blow off valve.

Putting an atmospheric blow off valve would be rather pointless on a big rig.

I believe it’s actually the hydraulic transmission. Someone told me before, I don’t remember.

will the woosh is the air letting go from the compressor for the air brakes

the go bus sounds pretty cool too if u sit right @ the back

FUCK I HATE WHEN PEOPLE SAY THAT

how can it be the air brakes when the truck is accelerating.

But yes, I love that sound.

he didnt mean the turbo spooling sound, there is a big WOOSH sound coming from air brakes.

you hear the turbo spooling up but the whoosh is the air brakes the compressor is engine mounted and more engine revs the faster it fills the air tank and the comprosser valve blows off same as in your garage when compressor is full to its psi you get the whoosh …

ohhh ok…

Well to me it clearly sounds like a blow off valve, and it’s clearly distinct
as they lift off throttle.

Oh well, I still love it.

i agree i also love the sound
i have been driving them for 11 years now and still love it

Can someone provide with some high res pics of what some of these turbo diesel motors look like? The ones found in big rigs.

I’ve always been very intrigued by what lies under the hood.

I know what’s crazy…

… he drives a beige coupe with 5lug S14 wheels.

In Gonads defense… its not beige it champagne.

hahahahahah the first time I saw that I almost shat in my pants.

And the four wheel steering make it feel it go DORIFTO!!

dori

Those engines go forever too. I hear its some obscene amount of km.

Hahaha i would imagine. My dad has worked in the office of of several trucking companies in the past… decade, and from what ive gathered, these things will go cross continent as much as 2-3 times a week with 2 people taking their turns driving. I would imagine no less than a few thousand kms a week…

me and my father used to dive anywhere from 3500 to 6000 miles in 2 weeks driving 24/7 non stop
and most trucks got top speed of 110kph with goveners
