You know you've made it when....

yeah my dad’s toureg was rated for something like 5k lbs. That was a v6 too.

This setup rocks…I need a cayenne turbo to tow my shitty boat lol

you can find CTTs for around $30k now… early V8 “S” models are in the 18-22 range.

I beat my trucks up too much to justify buying a porsche(home depot runs, taking trash to the dump, etc…)…I would be afraid of the maintenance costs too.

such a nice setup and that trailer doesnt look cheap by any means

they’re VERY reliable from my research… not that expensive to fix if you do the work yourself and buy as many parts as possible from VW.

Must be nice, GT2 is serious business

GT2 is basically a track-prepped 911 turbo right?

sort of… it’s more like a RWD, bigger turbo’d, slightly stripped but still well optioned 911 turbo.

Lol, first thing I thought of too.

sigh

I need a better job

also, a bunch of 996tt owners have converted to RWD by just removing the driveshaft and putting a block off plate in. everything including traction still works and many say it makes the car a lot more fun to drive. throw in some coilovers and power mods and you’ll have a poor mans GT2 that is probably faster and cost 1/2 the price.

I thought they have a factory roll bar too, or is that the gt3?

To do it correctly you need a spare set of axles so you can remove the stubs (cut off), cap the front bearings and remove the differential.

GT3RS has a factory roll bar, in Europe.

yeah im too scared to take the traction control off but people who do go rwd and have srs bznz mods to thier car must be fucking amazing drivers. these cars were so unpredictable before the awd and traction control. i guess some just like to live on the wiild side.

and yes gt3-rs you can option a roll bar. i believe even in the US market too. there is also a porsche aftermarket “teqeqiupment” roll bar avail for 911’s

I’ve never driven a 996tt, but I’ve dueled against them with my evo at the glen… I spent one entire day fighting with a guy I met at a PCA event (vs my evo) we where side by side everywhere, it was just an epic battle that lasted for what felt like hours. at one point we both got passed by a C4S on slicks that was just not slowing down for turns… shortly after he wrecked his car in the boot and shot across the track in front of both of us after bouncing off a wall… both the 996tt and I had to blindly burst through a cloud of smoke because we couldn’t slow down in time… it was my most fun / dangerous / scary session ever.

fuck me running.

lol

Yeah, I have seen one parked at the target near my house (LOL). The guy was rocking he roll bar. I think I remember the ‘RS’ graphics.

Pussy, 996’s are easy to drive. Especially compared to 930’s/993’s

Yes, you will see US Spec RS’s with the roll bar, however it’s a dealer installed extra, not a factory option to comply with DOT
