Thought this was weird and didnt look so good. Ill stick with 4
I don’t know how I feel about its awkward looks
:umm
Thats funny because I just turned on Speed and one of the cars “competing” in the historic F1 race at Laguna Seca is this car
The F1 Tyrrell P34 engineered their car that way for a completely different reason than what Covini are doing. The fact that they have a finalized model ready for production puzzles me a bit, as I do not see any advantages at all for having another set of wheels on the front axle, other than curing a problem that like the P34 encounters.
More unsprung weight means lower sprung-to-unsprung ratio, which counters the conventional rules of achieving good vehicle dynamics. The real questions is what kind of performance gain will they have at a cost of adding more weight to the car.
If a 1001hp Veyron can do it with 4, odds are most cars can. There is a reason why you don’t see cars with 6 wheels being produced.
IMO, the Covini seems to be an answer to a question that no one asks.
Covini is doing it because it is something different, a giant marketing ploy. The reasons listed on the site are a bunch of bullshit, they are only trying to make it seem like there is some practicality to the design. The designers were probably on a week long drinking binge and by the time they sobered up they had invested too much money into it to stop.
i remember seeing those online for a while now. they certainly look out of the ordinary.
Ugly as hell if you ask me. :nuts
