YouTube 2 MP3

Can a few people test this for me? UPDATE: http://dibblr.com and just paste in a youtube video URL and see if it gives you back the MP3 file. It may take a few minutes since there is about 20 people testing it now.

I needed to code some more to it since the site will have a bigger purpose but the general processing part, downloading, conversion, and temp file cleanup I need to verify which is why its just a plain form. The more people that try it with video links the better I know it handles a wide range of video formats and conversions.

If you have a youtube link that fails, please let me know the URL and copy me the link it gave you to download the MP3.

Thanks!

UPDATE: Visit http://dibblr.com on your iDevice or Computer now!

UPDATE2: iPhone part is down. Safari thinks the session is closing when the server gets busy so working on ways to keep the session open while the script still runs.

it works well

Worked for me…now get a domain name, ad generate, profit.

That worked very well…

I have yet to see anything like this available. Would there be any legal issues involved?

There are things like this out there, I did this with the ‘new haircut’ vid. I’ll see how this one does in comparison…

Its basically the same.

here is your competition http://soundzaa.com/ (I dont remember how I found them, google probably) that site also puts ‘soundzaa’ as the artist and album title.

+1 to doing something like this on your own. I wish I was that computer smart. lol

theres a lot of them, i even have a plug in in firefox for this.

Lol well its part of a larger project. The backend is what I am having everyone test and most people just like how simple it is that that aspect will stay. I am currently adding integration with YouTube so you can search right from this on YouTube and convert. Also, some Billboard top 100 integration that will be searching YouTube using open data sites like Last.fm and pushing that data at YouTube so you can search for example: U2 and you will see a list of albums from U2 and then have the ability to convert that album or individual tracks to MP3s based on YouTube videos.

Better hide your kids, hide your wife, and hide your husband cause the RIAA is gonna rape you.

I like the Idea however. If you need graphics LMK and I’ll try out some 'shop skills.

Way to bring “dubbing tapes” back from the 80’s

PM’ed.

Yeah… That sounds like something not worth getting into.

The RIAA really loves to sue people millions from things like this.

I wrote it to convert a lot of music only on YouTube. If people use it to convert copyrighted music, its not my fault =)

Also, it wont hijack videos that use the DRM on YouTube.

It does it well, but the audio seems a tad distorted when i play them side by side, and listen to them seperately.

After giving a second listen, it sounds as if it has a lower tone? kinda feels more slowed down ish?

The times are exactly the same so maybe it’s just me. I have Audacity that i do this with as well (your concept but you have to watch the whole thing as you record).
I played mine with yours, and very minute differences but noticeable to me i guess.

Overall very pleased with what you did here.

There was a lot of people who I sent the link and really liked it so I am keeping it up. I have moved it to http://dibblr.com and have moved it to an actual site and not just a form on a page.

Comments are welcome. There is more features coming soon too.

Still working on ways around Safaris HTTP session close timer but have a beta if anyone wants to try it on their iPhone. You need the Safari DL add-on installed along with a media player such as iFile for it to be useful in saving the MP3s to your phone and playing them.

Still beta but you can go on your iPhone to: http://dibblr.com/iphone/ and it will allow you to search YouTube and then Watch/Download a video. If you have Safari DL Plugin installed, you can save them to your iPhone and play them with something like iFile.

If you browse directly to http://dibblr.com on your iphone, it will show you the Youtube/Dibblr page =)

Hmm, how long is the process suppose to take from the PC?

Took me a few minutes on FiOS

The YouTube to Dibblr Download process takes a few minutes and the conversion is quick. I’m gonna move it to its own server probably since its getting a lot of attention and use.

what happens if the video has an advertisement that plays before the video?

It should be ok. I haven’t seen a problem yet with it.

If the grown keeps going, it will be moved to a faster server. Also there is gonna be a new version of the backend this weekend that will allow you to set the custom tags on the MP3 before you download it.

V0.5 now has ID tagging of the MP3 files using the Youtube video title, social sharing links, and forcing downloads using php so you don’t have to right click to save as.

Any coders out there that want to help with this let me know. Always looking to expand it
