if you guys remember me talking about a zr1 in Joeys lvb pics thread, how iv seen that guy with the zr1 around my town and talking about how he uses the brush and drove it in the winter. well i said i would get pics next time i saw him and well here ya go
notice how he lays the brush on the car to put more money in
I don’t see the issue here. He actually drives his car and puts miles on it. I would do the same thing if it was my car.
Well, I wouldn’t drive it in the winter. More out of safety than anything, I got caught ONCE by a freak dusting on the roads in my C5 and I might as well have been trying to drive in a foot of snow. Car didn’t move.
this thread has nothing to do with how or when or where he drives it, its that fact that i would not wash my car this way. not saying that he drives it alot is a bad thing, just dont use the BRUSH, spray it off
Whats wrong with the brush? On a daily driven car your not going to do any damage to your paint or finish using the brush. I wouldn’t use it on a freshly detailed car, but for something you DD it will be fine.
I have used the brush on every one of my vehicles and have NEVER put a scratch in any of them. The key is to take about 20-30 seconds and blast the shit out of the brush before using it; and make sure that you have thoroughly rinsed the car to remove all the large particles. Then when you blast the brush, I guarantee that there won’t be any particles left in it.
Hit it with an orbital and it’ll be good as new, if not better since most dealerships swirl up their cars when they detail them anyway.
And the brush can and will cause clearcoat marring/swirling. I’ve seen it done first hand.
Go wash your car with the brush, park your car in the direct sunlight, and take a picture of the hood where the sun is reflecting off of it. If there are no swirls then you either got lucky or your camera/eyes are junky.
