Bing, you can get the same hella modules I have in the pcar for $50 each, then just buy knockoff HID ballasts. Easy enough to mount in your popups.

You might want to review the rest of the thread before being so condescending. Nautica stated that he retrofits OEM projectors into stock housings then uses HIDs in the retrofit which would give a decent cut-off (still doubt it’s as good as OEM). Whereas if he was plugging HID bulbs into stock reflective housing, there’d be serious glare issues.

hector: you’re still using a plug n’ play system. if you’re using a plug n’ play system in an oem hid projector you’ll get the same result cause a D2S/D2C projector is shaped differently than a halogen projector, the focal point inside the bowl is different.
by doing a retro, its actually OEM. i’m using the oem projector from the car that has factory hids, such as BMW projectors, Acura/Honda stanley projectors, best in the market is the S2000, and than comes the acura tsx.
when i do my retro’s i remove the projector completely out of the headlights and just use the projectors itself, so what you get and what you see, will practically be the same as you buying that car. only problem when doing retrofit’s is that, when you buy the headlights for the retrofits you buy an after market plug n’ play kit and you get after market bulbs. so the color is different, but it doesn’t change the crisp cut off line.
if you want to get the exact color and hue, you’ll have to get Osram or Phillip bulbs and oem ballast to supply the correct wattage. I use to have oem ballasts, but they kept blowing on me, since these things are used you don’t know how many hours have been put on them.
and you must be an idiot to say that I don’t even know what bulbs i put in there. if you read, i said I retrofitted. meaning I put an Infinity FX35 bi-xenon projector on my s13.
in english, the Infinity FX35 is the shortest bi-xenon projector out there in the market, short as in, it’ll clean the pop-ups a bit, but can close if you really want to, all other projectors are longer. And because this is an OEM projector, it takes D2S bulbs, yes you’re right D2S bulbs, not no plug n’ play kit with perhaps a 9006 bulb that is molested to make fit. And no not a D2R bulb either, cause its going into a projector, the D2R bulbs can be found in some older/newer cars that have factory hid system but no projector, its for reflective housings. And because this projector is bi-xenon, there is an electronic solenoid that activates when i flash my high beams to move hte cut off downwards, making it become high beams.
before you start talking shit, perhaps you should do some research, go to www.hidplanet.com and inform the nice people there that you think a plug n’ play kit can give you a clean sharp cut off.

i posted a plug n’ play kit to show you the difference between a retrofit and a non-retrofit.
just because you put an H4 into a car that didn’t come with factory hids its still going to give you glare, because the headlights were not meant to have hids in them. so even with the glare shield on some h4’s the light bounces off the bowl in every direction, that’s what causes glare, any car that is not equipped with factory hids will induce glare regardless with a plug n’ play kit, some may not be as bad as other.
and if you read my post, no where do i retrofit bulbs, are you dumb?

and if you thought that was bad, trust me go on hidplanet, those guys on there are hid guru’s they’ll burn you so bad you probably won’t even go on, if you speak of a plug n’ play kit that has a better cut off than oem hid projectors.
