Things that suck v. Elise [Now with daytime pics]

Got rear ended by a 17 Y/O kid who had his car on the road for 3 days. He had insurance (thank god) but you’re probably looking at 10,000 dollars in damage. He got a ticket. I got a police report.

Are you fucking kidding me? Jesus man, I’m sorry. Shit like this worries me all the time. Least you got a PR. Let me know if you need a place to get it repaired.

I will. Think it needs a new clam?

wow that sucks newman :(, that kid is going to cry when he sees what happens to his insurance rates now

I dont like you or your car but that does suck

Suddenly it looks less hyphy…

 And best of all, in NY it’s your fault too. At least you’ll get it fixed right. They don’t have lots of cheap second hand body parts for them laying around like they do for tauri.

Wait til his ins company sees the price tag

legends are made out of newman.

Without seeing it in person it’s hard to say, I’d sure as hell hope not for the sake of his insurance company. Call me man, I’ll see what I can do to help.

ETers are saying yes, def…

that really sucks…

i blame josh. This is the second time a car he’s been in has been hit on this exact cruise.

if they dont replace it, you better damn well either get a written warranty, or take them to court

Fiberglass does not repair, correct? It’s almost always a replace?

Well, the damage LOOKS light in the pictures. I’m sure you could get away with not getting a clamshell, but if it’s his insurance covering, screw it. Again, I’d have to see it. Also I’m not on ET, but I’m sure it’s a lot of older guys that don’t know much about their cars, and tend to over-exaggerate damage / the value of their Elise’s. It seems to be a popular mid-life crisis car…

i heard about this tonight, shitty dude

it looks worse in person i think. the white horizontal line is nearly broken completely through.

fiberglass can be repaired, but theres DEFINANTLY a proceedure to it

basicly you carve out a swath of the old shit, grind both sides to a wide bevel, and lay up the whole area again, just like they lay up a fiberglass panel (mat layup, not chopped layup)

its a bitch on a large area, and it realy should only be done on holes, not long cracks, simply because of the work involved

if its most of the way thru, it might as well be all the way thru, by the time your done removing damaged material youll have nothing left.

its like acid rain damage on clearcoat, sure theres still clearcoat there, but by the time your done wetsanding the damage, will there be anything left to buff out ?

shttyshitty, what is the name of the kid that hit u? wat was he driving?
