i have a 01 civic i dont know much about these cars but heres whats going on. The battery light is staying on so my first thought was battery or alternator. had alt. tested came back fine put new battery in and checked volts at battery 13.2 not running and 14.5 running drove it since thursday like this with no problem what would make light stay on?
Moved to NET-AUTO for the Honda boiiis input.
If i am not mistaken there is a wire under the intake manifold (black and yellow) that rubs through and turns the light on.

Just checked and yes there is a bracket under the intake manifold that supports it. Remove the bracket and fixed the rubbed through wire and this should solve your issues. Also check that the 10amp fuse in the fuse panel is still intact.
i know the fuses are good just check them All today. i will check the wire tomarrow. any other things to look for would help too. every day this car isnt road worthy i am missing a potential buyer
If the alt or battery wernt bad. Then that is pretty much the only other possibility as to y the light is staying on.
