04-07 WRX or STI

I want Aspen White or whatever their Pewter is. Must be a 5 or 6 speed, and the more stock it is the better.

Anything I should know about them before purchasing? Things to look for that is. Are there any common problem spots for these cars?

Ive been going back and fourth between theWRX and an STI, is the performance difference between the two really worth $5-6k extra? Or could you easily save that 5-6, and make up the difference in mods? thanks for any help.

if you want a wrx, then get a 06+ as both wrx and sti have the 2.5 motors.
for those years, yes i think the sti is a lot better of a car. the new ones, not really.

yeah, you might want to narrow things down a bit more

there is a big difference between an 04 WRX and an 07 STi

get the STI. Iv owned both. They are worth the difference. Turbos go around 90kish and the timing belt should be replaced around then as well.

It would be the other way around. I only have around 12-14k to spend so it would likely be an 04/05 STI or an 06/07 WRX.

Thanks, I guess that would explain why a lot of these seem to be FS around that mileage then? Could just be a coincidence due to the age though. How decent are these in terms of durability? 200k out of the question? I don’t plan on racing it all all, I just want something that can get decent mileage I can drive year round and have some fun in. That’s another thing, I have seen MPG ratings all over the board for these things? AVG’s between 18-32, would 25 be a decent estimate then?

I get 25-26 with pretty mixed driving in my 2004 wrx.

Replacing a turbo on these is super easy. Not really people trying to get out of them, its just people actually DRIVE these cars and there approaching close to 10 years so the milage just adds up.You can get used upgraded turbos for around $400-500.Depending on the year, some model turbos are better.
