My uncle has an 04 Dodge Ram and he wants to put a body lift on it but he had a couple questions that we couldnt find answers too.
Does any modification to the fan or fan shroud need to be made?
Does the motor need to get lifted along with the body? Since the motor is bolted to the frame and we would be lifting the body, does anything have to happen to the motor?
Brake lines…do you have to add longer brake lines in to compensate for lift?
Ive never done ANYTHING on a truck before so sorry for the newbness.
body lifts = bad things but that’s my own experience… whenever we look at one for someone trying to trade it the rear end usually has some bad noises and the tranny is a bit rough so I’d make sure the driveline is set up correctly. I’d bet that is going to be the biggest task and the reason the trucks I’ve seen are screwed up (DIY gone wrong)… otherwise it will look awesome so update with pics if possible, good luck!
+1
Body lifts really are a huge PITA, don’t gain you any more ground clearance, and look like shit. A suspension lift will gain you ground clearance.
Either way, it’s a lot of work and money.
