Haha 6 years new.but I’m just saying in todays age getting blue book for evos are tough unless they have a bunch of mods.but yea 18k for this would be a good ass deal .I most certainly would of bought it if I was still looking cuz I wanted a white one bad lol.
Someone interested in purchasing this car had us look it over yesterday. The car owner, sportsallstar035, was here and allowed this, but we found issues and now sportsallstar035 is pissed at us. He just called and threatened me on the phone. We do not lie to people paying us to inspect a car. Get over it.
before you all get your panties in a bunch and listen to mike. get the real story from me and THE DOUGFRESH the member who was interested who was with me before, during, and after the trip. My valve cover had minor paint chips(can also ask psphinx), after leaving the shop, about 90% of the paint was chipped off the valve cover. Also, the top part of my manual boost controller was removed and mysteriously is missing right after the appt. The car drives fine therefore i had no idea about the problem they found(a leaking head gasket) which i was not mad about at all, and i am already in the process of fixing with paul. That business is a dump, and he obviously is not professional to bash me on here and lie .
Do you realize that you are bashing a well respected member of this community? Someone who runs a great and well praised business. I think 99.99% of the board will be keen to believe Mike. Thanks for playing but you should take Vipers ball and go home.
and im not shady about anything. I do not have a lift or access to one to see a wet ring around my block. If i knew i would have fixed it. And now that i know, i am getting it fixed completly before i let anything go any further. Shitty part is i now have to buy another manual boost controller, luckily paul has my old valve cover and can replace this one. Mike, dont call that theatening you over the phone, that was far, far from. A boost controller knob doesnt fall off, you guys were the only ones to touch the car.
I have to agree that a leaking seal is not shady. Cars tend to have small leaks and issues that usually go unnoticed until someone goes looking for them. Good luck with the sale, glad to hear that you responded appropriately by getting the minor issue fixed right away. This act indicates a serious seller who is not going to dick you around.
Thank you. I took it very seriously, and am in the process of contacting shops to get the whole head resurfaced and cleaned along with a new head gasket. And im going to take money off the settled price between me and dougfresh once the repair is complete and he sees the paperwork and still is interested. I would never sell a broken or leaking car, had i known it was leaking i wouldnt have agreed to get the car checked over in the first place.
I honestly dont know mark! And im best friends with francesco, the new toy you just picked up. I would never pull anything like this. Its seriously all chipped off.
The paint on your valve cover was all cracked and flaking. A good portion of it had already fallen off when the car arrived. I’m not surprised that it continued to flake off after it left.:ham: We weren’t paid to stop the paint from flaking off or to fix the head gasket leak, just look at the car, do a compression/leakdown test, and put new spark plugs in while we were at it. Next time prep the surface properly on the valve cover and use paint that can handle the heat to avoid it all flaking off.
Nobody touched your boost controller. It’s not part of the compression/leakdown testing which is the only thing we did aside from briefly looking the car over.
Since you brought up Dougfresh…he PMd me to thank us for spotting the issues with the car. His PM included “Thanks a ton for looking at that Evo, best $100 I have spent.”
i dont see anywhere that he was calling and threatening because you found something wrong with his car. You kind of left out the part where parts were missing/fallen off in your original post. I would be kind of pissed too
