Standalones aren’t that much (2000 or so), but getting it to play nice with the CAN-BUS gauges is hard. There are only a few that have the capablity, and IMO aren’t that great.
I think some guys are wiring the standalones in parallel with the OEM ECU, but i think that’s got mixed results.
Then you have the inspection issue…
Just keep in mind that an elise is SLOW… like a stock STi will pull 2 or 3 cars from a roll…
