I’m looking at picking up a 05 saab 9-2x aero with about 45k on it for $14,800. I just want to see what some of you on here who had exp with these cars I know its basically a wrx. So what are some things to look for and what seems to be the big issues with these cars? Seeing i’ve been a audi/vw guy my whole life I don’t know what to really expect and look for. Sorry the post is lacking. Posting from my phone.
I would guess that any common WRX wagon problems would apply. They only came with an automatic though, didn’t they? definitely not a bad choice, I love my Dads.
Going based on the mechanical aspect purely on my WRX wagon. Really the only thing is around 60k that it’s recommended to have the timing belt changed. Seeing as it’s under that point really just check for any obvious problems. Beyond that, there really is nothing terribly special to look for just check for what you would with a normal car.
Not sure if there are any specific issues related saab added components interior/exterior wise. But it’s a mostly problem free car, with low cost of maintenance as long as it wasn’t beat on. I have 105k on my 02 WRX wagon and I can pretty much count what I have needed to replace on one hand.
is it the one at Toyota?
If so it’s autotragic. don’t do it!
Yeah, just got off the phone with my sister and she has confirmed it’s an auto. Happy I spent all day working the numbers with them. Funny nobody could confirm if it was a 5 speed or not until tonight. I drove all the way out there the other night to look at a 04 WRX and that was auto as well.:smash2:
I have been looking up and down for a WRX wagon in 5 speed and nobody has a thing not even a 4 door around here. Well back to my searching.
92Xs are nice. People say they have a better interior than WRXs but they are pretty much identical.
Have you tried looking at NASIOC classifieds?
why dont you buy your old coupe back you bone head :ham:
the people are right
Don’t know much about them, but I’d imagine them to be pretty decent since they pretty much are WRX’s.
word, sexy looking wrx’s
He’s getting rid of the Maxima.
whats wrong with the max, fwd? Just man up and drive the A4 in the snow, its AWD.
I"m getting about 18.3 miles a gal out of the max and filling up every 4 days. Thats a $100 every 8 days. I also put new snows on the Max and I have to say it’s the worst possible car I have ever drove in the snow. It will get stuck in the smallest amout of snow…
As for the A4 give it a rest… The day you put snows on the poopra I will think about it… I just want a fun DD that is good on gas…
The max should get around mid twenties on the hwy. Somethings probably fouled or dirty.
max should be getting about the same as any wrx really. and I drove my maxima in the snow for years without problem. I’d much rather have a maxima for a winter car because of climate/heated/leather/big interior.
Erik, if you want, I can put you in touch with the dealer down the street from my Father who specializes in used Subarus and Saabs.
You would have to figure out financing on your own though.
Are you definitely going to get something through your sister?
I have been looking on the Maxima forums and it seems that most people get around the same as me. My A4 with a GT28R and me driving it hard gets around 23…
As for keeping the Max I think thats out. It was a poor purchase on my part. I really just want AWD and a fun DD and the Max is not.
How about you buy a Mitsubishi Diamante?
